Recommended Health Checkup

Even if you're feeling well, regular health checkups help detect hidden conditions early. Here are some essential tests you should consider:

1. Liver Function Test (LFT)

Checks your liver enzymes, bilirubin, and protein levels to detect liver diseases like hepatitis or fatty liver.

  • Recommended: Once every 1 to 3 years (annually if you take medications, alcohol, or have a fatty diet).

2. Blood Sugar Tests

Includes fasting blood sugar (FBS), post-meal sugar (PPBS), and HbA1c, which shows your average sugar levels over 3 months.

  • Recommended: Annually, especially if you're over 30, overweight, or have a family history of diabetes.

3. Complete Blood Count (CBC)

Measures red and white blood cells, hemoglobin, and platelets to detect anemia, infections, or immune issues.

  • Recommended: Once a year.

4. Lipid Profile

Checks cholesterol levels (HDL, LDL, triglycerides) to assess your heart disease risk.

  • Recommended: Every 1–2 years; annually if you have high-fat intake or a family history of heart disease.

5. Kidney Function Test

Includes creatinine and urea levels to assess how well your kidneys are filtering waste.

  • Recommended: Every 1–2 years.

6. Thyroid Profile (TSH, T3, T4)

Detects hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism, which can affect energy, weight, mood, and more.

  • Recommended: Every 1–2 years; yearly if you have symptoms like fatigue, hair loss, or weight changes.

7. Vitamin D Test

Measures your Vitamin D level, important for bone strength, mood, and immunity.

  • Recommended: Every 1–2 years, especially if you have little sun exposure or bone/joint pain.

8. Urine Routine Test

Helps detect urinary infections, kidney problems, or diabetes markers.

  • Recommended: Every 1–2 years.

9. ECG (Electrocardiogram)

Checks your heart’s rhythm and electrical activity to detect early signs of heart problems.

  • Recommended: Every 2–3 years (earlier if you feel chest discomfort or have family history).

10. Eye and Vision Checkup

Detects vision issues, eye strain, and early signs of diseases like glaucoma or cataracts.

  • Recommended: Every 2 years; yearly if you wear glasses or are above 40.

11. Dental Checkup

Helps prevent cavities, gum disease, and bad breath.

  • Recommended: Every 6 to 12 months.

12. Physical Examination

Includes blood pressure, weight, BMI, heart and lung exam, and general health review.

  • Recommended: Annually.

13. Mental Health Screening

A quick screening for stress, anxiety, or depression.

  • Recommended: Once a year or when you feel low or anxious.
